What is Kiteboarding?

There is a sport that is like surfing, wakeboarding, and flying all at once.  If you’ve ever been to Pismo Beach on a windy day, you will see over two dozen kiteboarders in the water or doing tricks high above it.  Most of these riders are ordinary people that are simply addicted to this amazing extreme sport called kiteboarding.

Kiteboarding uses the wind to combine the aspects of surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and windsurfing into one extreme ocean sport.  The kite, anywhere from 6-20 square meters, powers the rider through the water.  The kite will have either 4 or 5 lines up to 27 meters long that connect to a control bar, which the rider pushes and pulls to control the kite in any direction.  The bar hooks into the rider’s harness, which is most often worn around the waist. A board similar to a wakeboard or surfboard enables the rider to fly over the water. Check out our kites, boards, and harnesses here

The Balance is an ergonomically shaped seat harness that combines lower back and hip support, with the freedom to move. The strategic synch strap placement puts the hook in a low position to allow the body full range of motion, while supporting the lower back and waist.


NEOPRENE BUCKLE COVERS:
Soft neoprene covers prevent kite lines from snagging.


HEAVY-DUTY HANDLE PASS LEASH:
A PU-coated line runs across the back of the harness with dual quick releases on each side of the harness.


DUAL TENSION BELT:
Two levels of tensioning - for a perfect fit and a wide range of adjustment.


LOW BACK SUPPORT:
Narrower profile, for a lighter feel and increased range of motion. Ideal fit for smaller riders.

SPLIT SIDE LOAD-SPREADING PATCHES:
Internal and external structural elements that help spread the load throughout the entire harness.


SOFT FABRICS:
All Naish harnesses use soft neoprene or tricot interiors and have round edges with padding for maximum comfort.

SOFT LEG STRAPS:
Soft fabric covers our seat harness leg straps, to protect the skin.

3D FIT TECHNOLOGY:
Ergonomically curved in the molding process, with horizontal/vertical seam shapes to follow the shape of your body for maximum support and comfort.

CLICK-IN SPREADER BAR:
